SUMMER CAMP

Come play!

Get ready for an unforgettable summer at Theater Camp, hosted in the stunning Caldwell Theater at Tam High School! Inspired by our signature event, Shakespeare on the Water, this camp is all about diving into the magic of theater in a fun, inclusive, and creative space. Kids (aged 9-14) will explore the basics of acting in a traditional indoor theater setting—using their bodies, voices, and imaginations to bring stories to life. On the final day, we’ll take our theater tools out on the water for a 3-hour sail on the San Francisco Bay aboard the Matthew Turner Tall Ship, or Schooner Seaward, in partnership with the non-profit Call of the Sea.

The sail is a chance to combine the excitement of performing with the adventure of learning about sailing and marine science, while also playing theater games and performing Shakespearean scenes for one another. It’s the perfect way to reflect on the week and experience the magic of Shakespeare on the Water firsthand!

This camp is designed to help kids build confidence, collaborate with new friends, and develop empathy through creative play, environmental science, and physical storytelling.

Perfect for all skill levels. AGES 9-14.
Counselor-in-Training. AGES 14-18.

  • By integrating arts with STEM, we’re offering more than just an arts camp. Research shows that it takes 400 repetitions to form a new brain synapse in traditional learning, but only 10-20 repetitions when play is involved. Theater’s creative, play-based approach helps kids absorb information faster and more joyfully.

Meet Isabelle.

Hi! I’m Isabelle. I started Shakespeare on the Water in 2021 as a way to engage with my peers and develop a format for us to play together. It quickly turned into a beautiful project that happens annually on the Sausalito Waterfront. I hope to continue the rich tradition of the arts in our stunning landscape, following in the footsteps of the greats—Chris Hardman of Antenna Theater and the many mariner-creatives: Otis Redding, Maya Angelou, Agnes Varda —by inspiring, engaging, and nurturing young artists. My goal is to help them develop their storytelling abilities through the power of communication, mindfulness, and grounded creativity.

I am an actress, producer and educator from Mill Valley who graduated from Tam in 2010. I went on to receive my BFA in Acting from North Carolina School of the Arts, made theater in NYC and acted in the Transformer’s film Bumblebee! I currently teach part time at Tam, and work freelance modeling, acting, producing Shakespeare on the Water. I currently teach as a guest artist in the Drama Department at Tam High, and love the way engaging students in play activates the full brain - both left and right hemispheres - deepening a child’s empathy and creating a willingness to open up not only to one another in our work together, but outside the walls of the theater as well.
